Recently some of my Disney blu ray movies stopped working on my player(PS3), anyone else have this problem?
So far it's just A Bug's Life and The Princess Diaries. |

Either disc rot or you need a system update on your PS3.
Which makes me wanna question why you’re using an 11 year old gaming console for playing Blu-ray’s? I would suggest an upgrade to a more modernized BD player. |

Have you updated your PS3? They tend to force people to update the firmware if they haven't in a while.
This sort of DRM is annoying because you'd think you would just insert the disc and watch. |

I mean, all I'd want is to watch the movie or show, that's it. |

Why not just update it? It usually alerts you if it’s time or just check the settings. How long has it been since you last used it? Unless something else is wrong nothing should prevent them from playing. |

Tried it again after the last update, still didn't work. Also that update must have changed my password or at least made my password no longer work.
I keep my stuff in a cool try place and no dust, scratches, etc.. Basically in both cases it starts working until ether right before the menu screen or after choosing to play the movie. But nobody else has had this problem with those movies? |

I never had this issue of a player demanding to be updated with DVDs. And on PC, you can just select the video file and watch it straight from the disc with any suitable media player. |

There are multiple threads about this in the PS3 section.

Also what password? They’re not even required for system updates. Updates don’t affect passwords. |

Those two are the only US releases so far that has a problem the other one is one movie in a Muppet movie set that was European. I do find it weird that they are all Disney releases.

So others have had the same kind of problem of only specific movies not working.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards...4819253?page=1 https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=204657 The suggestions are clearing the Blu-ray cache in settings. Some discs have a LIVE feature that uses the internet which saves a file and can cause a glitch. Try deleting any BR folders and disable the option that connects BR discs to the internet. Disable it in the movie’s settings too if they have it. The last suggestion is using Safe Mode and restoring File System (Not Restore PS3). Watch this first. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=...&v=TVOJny2FdRM |
