Not sure if this was posted before by anyone else (I didn't see anything about it) but here goes ...

I went on Amazon.com this afternoon to buy some e-gift cards and when I was in the gift cards section of the site, there was the following message (at least for myself):

How to Use Your Promotional Code

Add one or more products sold by Amazon.com in new condition to your cart.

So I basically went and bought a $50 Amazon e-gift card and had it e-mailed it to myself. Now according to Amazon when I went to checkout, I should be getting an additional $10 promo code sent to me in a few days. Got the e-mail about the $50 e-gift card right away and applied the $50 to my existing gift card balance. So I will be checking my e-mail in a few days for the $10 promo code. Keep in mind it's a limit one per customer sort of thing.

Not sure if this deal will work for everyone but hey, if you're going to spend at least $50 for a single transaction anyway at Amazon, I say it's worth a shot.
