I was curious if it's worth getting only because I hear as being wired it's still has a lot of lag? How do games like GTA 5 and BF4 work and look on it?

There will always be some sort of latency.
For fast twitch games, its noticeable (FPS, MLB). For regular games like Final Fantasy X or GTA, not a problem at all.

Make sure its wired. Wifi is worthless.
I rarely used mine until I went wired in the other room. Now I use it more when the kids take over the living room
