Best Buy Reward Zone Certificate Issue

I don't often shop at BBY anymore. After all these BF purchases, I ended up with a sizable $20 cert. However, the bulk of those points came from a PS4 which I happened to return on Monday. I figured those points would be removed, and I was shocked that the points would credit so early and convert into a cert. Don't they normally post in like 30 days? What will happen if I try to use this cert since I technically don't have the points? Can I be charged back the difference?

It used to be 30 days, but when they dropped ther return period from 30 days to std 14 days that became the de facto credit time for RZ points also. WIth Elite/Plus/extended return periods this can become an issue. I've never heard of them charging people for an after the fact return

They're not currently giving out mystery certs right now, are they? It just makes no sense to have points credited from a purchase that was made nine days ago. Something just doesn't add up.

my black Friday points posted already too.

if I remember right.....if you returned the item already.....your account will have a negative balance and it would just take longer to save up for the next reward certificate.

Sweet, then BBY just lost out because I don't think I've spent $1000 there in the last couple of years. I did sign up for the Gamers Club Unlocked which, I guess, got me 2x points on the Ps4 that I returned anyway because I got it for $77 cheaper at newegg.

I was just about to correct myself. Either they changed their policy or I was flat out wrong.
