Default Yamaha avr with atmos

I recently got the new Yamaha's avrs, the 2050 & 1050 and was wondering if the Star Wars blu-ray bomb is something to worry about? I just now been buying Star Wars movie steel books at Best Buy for 7.00 each because I was sent several coupon from best buy for 10.00 off.thx

No your fine. That was chipset related and it was a long time ago, pun intended. Enjoy your movies and may the force be with you! Keep us posted.

oh I remember it goosed the hell outta me when I had my Onkyo 805 receiver (best one they made in a long time) but, it used the chipset that was prone to DSP issues with specific releases in DTS. the other workaround was to simply let the player do the decoding onboard and stream LPCM to the receiver.

if your ever having DTS or Dolby issues today, that is still one of the single most recommended workarounds; let the player decode and stream LPCM to the player.

best of luck, please keep us posted.

when I went to separates some years ago, I sold my 805 to a friend, it was his first real big boy receiver and it is still working for him to this day! that thing was a powerhouse!

so, what kind of ATMOS setup do you have, 5.1.2(4), 7.1.2(4) ? and how do you like it?

That's why I keep old HK AV/receiver moved to my bedroom for 5.1 channels. Small speakers and two bookshelf speakers stereo are old school.

Yamaha 3050 for family room 7.1.4 channels

My collections BDS are 90% and future UHD 4K are ...maybe 10%

I agree you, the three speakers same LCR.

Klipsch LCR, PSB S50 surround, small klipsch b10 for back surround.
4 satellite speakers Polk audio for height.
