I know that it stays in your account if you buy it before it's gone but, do you still risk losing it somehow? Will they eventually pull that title from your account itself? Or does nothing change despite it being removed from the store?
Had a title in my collection that got pulled from both iTunes and VUDU store, but for some reason, won't play on my Apple TV. So now, I'm curious. |

There was a temporary glitch/issue recently where some titles were removed from users Purchased lists (one that comes to mind is Hercules) but they came back after a day or so.
I think you might need to contact Apple support and/or the movie studio (you'd have to look back through this thread) |

What title is it?
Generally, if the title is just removed from the store for some reason, anyone that purchased (or redeemed) it will always be able to play it. Apple is pretty strict about not letting studios permanently delete something that people might have already purchased. The only exception that I know of (and has happened once that I know of) is if there's a legal reason it can't be left available to anyone under that studio. Like, if a studio accidentally cleared a film for sale in the US that they only ever had international rights for (and a different studio has US rights). I suspect that they would have to give a credit or refund to anyone that did buy it in the US (don't know about the details on that end), but that's the only case where I've seen a title actually 'deleted' from Apple's system completely. Even if a movie changed studios, and was removed from one studio's store and added to the new studio's store, people that bought it under the old studio will still be able to access that version of it. |

It's up to the studio to stop selling it, but I can't believe that the studios can decide if it's still in our collection. I call BS on that customer service agent's response. I'd escalate that ish.

You still own it. (I just checked and my brother can still watch his entire Robocop collection) Even though people can only rent it at this time.
