West Side Story in 70mm - Blu-ray Forum

For those of you in the Hollywood area, West Side Story will be playing in a 70mm print struck from the original negative on 7/18 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Tickets are only $5.

I don't know whether it's in the original 6-track discrete mag sound or DTS digital sound. Hopefully, it's the former. If it is the former and there was any way I could get out to L.A. for this, I would.

I'd rather see it on stage. Always better, but then a high school production would probably be better than the movie.

Whatever happens I hope we receive the very best 4K transfer Steven Spielberg can provide video and audio. Although I am not usually a great supporter of revivals I am right behind this production. If anything I am hoping it will recharge interest in bringing more Broadway musicals to the screen.
