I rarely get to the theater but I might consider doing so for this title.
Regardless I'll purchase this on UHD 4K with high hopes for an awesome home theater presentation!

This looks like a disaster but should at least be nice eye/ear candy.

The trailer for this makes it look so generic, but being from the mind of Peter Jackson makes me want to see it.

It’s not really from his mind, it’s based on a book and Jackson simply produced because the director is a friend who worked with him on LOTR/Hobbit.

Remember when Christian Rivers was pegged to direct The Dambusters remake.

Even if it's really good (and I haven't heard any opinions yet), I have a feeling it's going to get run right over by a speeding Spider-Train.

I will absolutely see this if it's playing in my local Dolby Cinema but otherwise I'll wait for the UHD. If nothing else, it should look and sound wonderful.

I'm kinda hype for it. Just seems cool, creative and high end. And even though it's a book->movie franchise plan, it doesn't totally smack of YA fiction tropes + age mileage casting choices. Not getting any kind of new King Arthur, Robin Hood vibes from it either.

It could be exactly that, though. Hopefully not.

So I just came back from seeing this....

If you look at it from a technical point of view it looks and sounds very good, but that's what we're used to from Peter Jackson and his team.
But story-wise it wasn't very special and some scenes we're stretched too much as far as I am concerned.
This will get crushed between Spider-Man : Into The Spider-verse , Aquaman and Mary Poppins Returns.....it was better off being released earlier but I think Universal thought we can do this

I will probably buy it on 4K because I have a feeling it will look very good.

I'm a huge Spidey and Marvel comic fan but the Spidey-Verse movie holds no appeal at all; looks like it would appeal if I were 12.

Bumblebee might be OK but I haven't seen any bar the first Transformers so (even with it being a prequel) I don't know how much I'd get so am not that bothered... and a VW Beetle... <spit>, Aquaman looks like it could be great but I'm not really following DC sagain; too much back story potentially.

Mortal Engines OTOH, looks really interesting, likely to be amazing to look at & hear, based on an stand alone book that sounds like it has a plot with potential - it'll be my go-to choice IF I have any time before (like many other 'less blockbustery' movies this year) it is pulled from the cinema to make way for popcorn flicks.
