Default bad luck with blu ray players

Let me tell you a story. I received my first blu ray player Christmas 2009 and that is when i began my collection. As of today 8 May 2015 i am on my 8th blu ray player. That's right, in the last 5 years i have had 7 blu ray players break on me. At first i was spending quite a bit on them, but obviously as they kept breaking i figured it made more sense to get cheaper ones. A couple of years ago i took out an extended warranty so whenever my player breaks, i can get a replacement immediately. The longest any of them lasted was less than a year, probably 10-11 months maximum, the shortest was an unbelievable 2 and a half weeks! It was player no. 7 that only lasted 2 and a half weeks. So i guess i just wanted to rant. I personally put this down to a curse against technology that i must have. People tell me it's just bad luck but it seems too consistent to be just bad luck and perhaps i am a little superstitious. I've owned Sony (broke), Panasonic (broke), Toshiba x2 (broke, broke) Samsung x4 (broke, broke, broke i hope this new doesn't!). No matter what brand i get and no matter how much i spend, they just break. Now i do have a huge blu ray library so the players get plenty of use but i work full time so it's not like i'm using them all day every day. Does anyone else have any similar stories or bad luck with blu ray players? Perhaps stuff just isn't built to last but to me 8 players in 5 years is absolutely and completely ludicrous.
