So, I decided to start redeeming my codes for digital copies of movies included with the Blu Rays on the iTunes on my PC, with the first two being The Martian and Sicario. Anyway, I put in the codes using the iTunes store, but each film seems to be downloading incredibly (and unusually) slow. Currently, The Martian says "22 hours remaining", while Sicario says "27 hours remaining." Has anyone else encountered this, and is there a way to speed them up?

Do you happen to know the speed of your network? If not, you can go to http://speedof.me/ to find out your download speed.

At that rate, Sicario should take about 5 hours to download by itself without any other network traffic. 27 hours is about 1/6th that speed, but since you're downloading another movie as well, let's say it's 1/3rd the speed. If you're not using your network for anything else, that's still too slow.

This is the beauty of iTunes though. You can download the movies at night when you are sleeping or download while you are at work. When its done, you have your 1080p movies at your disposal whenever you want. I also have a slow connection and iTunes downloads have been great (although slow) and I get to watch my purchases in HD.
Just a recommendation though: download your movies one at a time. If you allow for downloading simultaneously and something happens, you will probably have to begin on both again. Last edited by socal9; 01-23-2016 at 05:15 PM. |

I usually download through my iPhone app, but occasionally have to use the computer. My frustration is downloading a game onto my console. It feels like it takes forever and I don't remember it being so slow. Still, that definitely feels slow even for me. Below are my speeds using the link that socal9 gave and my gotos. Couple of questions, what are you supposed to be getting speed wise, have you done a network diagnostic, resetting it or shutting it down, unplugging the modem and cable, then hooking it all back up to see if that helps your speed?
