I try not to watch people's video reviews because quite frankly I don't give a damn about a lot of new age/younger generation "critics". Most have a chip on their shoulder that isn't earned or deserved.

With that being said, are CinemaSins decent and level headed or is their name exactly what I think it is. Meaning, they unjustly nitpick the f*** out of films which ends up making them look like jack asses because they're trying too hard to act smart or like film buffs?

There reviews are literally nitpicking. Some would call it post-modern and ironic, but all their reviews are titles "everything wrong with _______ in __ minutes" which are just click baity titles. And of course they inspire new wave Internet/blogger critics to point just write reviews going through the entire film and saying what they dislike.

You guys know they originally started off as satire and comedy? Pointing out goofs in films, like the car driving by itself in Twilight.

Then they hit it big with their videos, and in an effort to make that all previous YouTube money, went to crap nit picking films people actually like, and picking on the stupidest things. Half the time their "sins" are "character X does this without knowing this" when the very next scene explains why said character knows that. They've become BS, and VERY annoying. Same with honest trailers.

Honest Trailers is quite hilarious on occasion, they just have to select better movies to pick on tbh.

Good to know I'm not alone in my views towards a lot of these new "critics". Wasn't trying to ruin the thread but also wasn't about to watch that video if they were nitpickers, which they apparently are.

That's my problem with Most critics now days (the younger ones at least), they are focusing on what to s*** on that they aren't paying attention well enough. They end up looking like morons for criticising things that shouldn't have been criticized in the first place.

These guys aren't that bad. I've actually enjoyed some of their work because you can tell it's all in fun and they most likely don't hate the films for dumb reasons or tiny errors.

Rifftrax is even worse cause they do the whole movie.

Only one that is tolerable or even good at times is Honest Trailers.

I'm pretty sure CinemaSins is meant to be a joke and parody of the nitpickers. I enjoy them for what they are; if I thought they were being at all serious I would probably hate the show.

As for the online reviewer phase, as a whole it's largely in its dying breaths, but I still do enjoy Phelous.

Actually I think Cinema Sins from time to time does bring up honest problems in a story. There's a lot of nitpicking, but at times there's something genuinely wrong. If it's something that both audiences get a laugh out of and helps filmmakers make better movies than I think it's great. And it's pretty obvious which movies Cinema Sins like (and what they're nitpicking) and the others that it's pretty noticeable that the filmmakers didn't bother with certain plot inconsistencies.

I thought it was clear that Cinema Sins was drenched in sarcasm, not serious film critique.
