Default Spike's "The Mist" (Season 1)

Quote:
Harvey and Bob Weinstein of The Weinstein Company is bolstering their presence on the television scene, reports the L.A. Times. And, in addition to the Scream television series we've been reporting on, it appears Bob Weinstein wants a television series based on The Mist as well.

According to the Times, Weinstein is "developing a proposed 10-part series with Frank Darabont, based on Dimension’s film version of Stephen King’s “The Mist."

In addition to that, of course, is a possible television series based on Sin City as well, and that seems like a no-brainer.

The Mist, however, is a puzzler. The film, in my opinion, is a horror gem. So, it doesn't need to be retold, by any means. Perhaps Darabont is considering "other tales within The Mist"? Other perspectives of those who are caught up in the mist when it descends on a small Maine town?

The original was released in 2007 and starred Thomas Jane and The Walking Dead's Melissa McBride and Laurie Holden. Following that film's releasing, Darabont, of course, developed The Walking Dead, until he was booted from that series by AMC. This week sees the debut of his latest television series, Mob City.

Love this idea. Different perspectives is the perfect way to go about this. I always thought they should do that with SILENT HILL as well. Maybe a full 10-season arc on a particular storyline like AMERICAN HORROR STORY does.

Please don't be on HBO... Please don't be on HBO...

AMC might be out of the question (it didn't look like they parted ways in a too friendly manner after the 1st season of TWD), but maybe .. FX (would be a nice complement to AHS)? USA (I don't think they even have a horror type show)?

Summer on CBS complementing "Under The Dome"? (although it does't look like they really did the book justice so far).

Ugh...loved the first five hours and hated the last five minutes of the movie...pure no sense crap. Should have left it open ended like the original story. If they do the same exact thing in the show they can keep it. I hate when movies add something for pure shock value but when you add up everything made no sense in the actual story.

My main reason is that I do not have HBO, nor do I intend to get it

The other is that I generally find their ... inclination ... to put out gratuitous nudity is sometimes distasteful (though "most of the time" warranted in something like Game Of Thrones I guess), and it certainly would have 0 place in something like The Mist.

HBO = Her Breasts On?

Hot Boobs On-Screen

True Blood is very guilty of that. I remember my dad came in while I was watching the first episodes of season 1 and he asked me if I was watching porn, and I had to say "Honestly, I don't know. I thought this was about vampires becoming mainstream and instead I'm getting softcore porn".

Also from what I saw Sex In The City is basically non-stop nudity and shopping so there's that...

It made total sense and King is on record saying he prefered Darabonts ending over his own.

The movie was pretty solid(albeit the CGI creatures sucked) until the ending. Not only was it cheap and disgusting, but it felt completely out-of-character based on what had happened the previous 2 hours. No way after going through all that hell to survive would they make a decision like that.
