Angelique saga?

I remember watching this saga (Angélique marquise des Anges, Angélique et le roy, Merveilleuse Angélique, Indomptable Angélique, Angélique et le sultan), with strong performances by Michèle Mercier, Robert Hossein and Jean Rochefort. I'm not familiar with releases of the 60s French movies on Blu-ray so I need some input to know if there's any chance it will be released one day.

I have to speculate that this would be unlikely to transition to Blu-ray any time soon. It is the type of original French content that is basically non existent on Blu-ray in France at the moment. This said, Studio Canal obviously have very good masters for these films as the DVD releases look outstanding.

I have the U.S. boxset and am very happy with it. I suggest getting it, if you could play NTSC content, as the films are properly transferred and there is no PAL speedup (I know the music very well and am very sensitive to it).

Thanks for the info, Pro-B. Since I can't afford the new Blu set and this is a blind buy, I settled for the U.S. DVD, as per your recommendation. I was able to get it USED-VG for $11.98, which is a good deal if it arrives in decent shape. I'm looking forward to seeing the films.

I blind bought the US Lionsgate set back when it was originally released years ago, and these films blew me away! Can't recommend them highly enough- there is really nothing else quite like them out there.

While I assume this French set won't have English subs, at least the fact that it finally has been released in the format by S-C means that a specific English language release, either in the UK or by Lionsgate in the US, is more of a possibility than it looked just a year ago.

Would love to hear any feedback on this set at all.
