Patch Adams Blu-ray - Blu-ray Forum

I haven't been on this forum long and I apologize if I'm breaking the rules by creating this thread but I'd just like to see what the interest is out there for this movie to be released on Bluray.

I know lots of people hate this movie because it didn't accurately portray the real Patch Adams but if you put that aside and just take it for what it is I think it's a beautiful movie. I noticed there's an entry here on the site for it, does that indicate that it may be released or was the entry just made by a random user?

Also it was released on HD DVD which I'd assume means it wouldn't be too hard for Universal Pictures to release it on Bluray.

I'd imagine at some point Universal will release this film. Not only for fans of Williams to enjoy over and over, but to remember the great talent he was. Patch Adams is very enjoyable and depressing at the same time.....

I'd like to get all of his films then get one of those 10+ disc blu-ray cases and make my own Robin Williams Film collection.

Maybe have this be the spine art

There's a "Wish Lists" section for movies that haven't been released on Blu-ray yet.

I should think, given the tone of this film, and Williams' suicide, that Universal wants to be very careful, and I wouldn't expect to see this on BD for a while, unless it gets licensed in Europe.

The overall tone is happy imo.

But yeah his death can go either way for this movie being released. After his death there was heaps of talk and advertisements of his films but I noticed (in Australia at least) there was next to no mention of Patch Adams, which I think is one of his best acting jobs. So yeah doesn't look good. Lucky for me I have the HD DVD

I saw this as an adult. The nursing instructor presented this as a learning video on not losing compassion and understanding of patients.

Seems like it was pulled, as it's not available at either Amazon site.
