Default Rock Hudson on Blu-ray - The Official thread

Rock Hudson is one of my favourite male actors, and I hope more films come on Bluray soon.
( hopefully Criterion upgrades to Magnificent Obsession and Written in the wind, his other 2 films with Doris Day and The Spiral Road).
Now, this thread is mainly for the US releases, but I included a UK one too.
There are some more Blurays of 10 other films in other countries, but most of them are of questionable quality by small studios so I haven't included them here.

US:

UK:

Thanks.
Just updated the list.

Yes, from comments I read about the Last Sunset it doesn't seem good.

well the last sunset is from Koch, not the same label this one is coming from.
Hansesound does have a poor reputation so far for their bds, but many koch releases are pretty good, so I'd be surprised if their bd of the last sunset was that poor.
Koch also has Captain Lightfoot as part of their Masterpieces of cinema series so I would expect that bd to look good.

Hmm.. I'm not sure why. I updated my post with the images as links.

And here's The Last Sunset.
(well, it doesn't look good indeed)
Can you see these?

those shots I can see; the "links" came up on my computer as "403--Forbidden"
lol.
anyway, shots don't look great; don't look as awful as some might say they do. I feel pretty certain that the Koch bd is better than the universal dvd version, and I can almost guarantee you 100% Universal won't be releasing the last sunset in the US on blu-ray.
some of these foreign releases of obscure catalog titles will be the only bd releases that will ever exist.
the problem is we just don't know with 100% accuracy which ones might get released in the US.
although with "last sunset" I think we can safely rule that one out UNLESS Universal finally decides to open the vault for a distributor like Olive or Kino.
would be nice to see.

well unless Universal cuts some kind of deal, which company would be releasing The Last Sunset or Captain Lightfoot in the US?
There isn't one because those are Universal controlled films.
Koch has a deal with Universal for all these lesser known catalogs that they have released in Germany.
and Koch has released a bunch of them.
why Universal is seemingly unwilling to make these type of deals in the US is anyone's guess.

I guess it's understandable why we don't have more releases of Rock Hudson films.
Noone seems to care here except you and me, judging from this thread.

Well, talking about Cary Grant in the other thread, I guess there is not much on this front either, is there?

Watched "All That Heaven Allows" on Thursday, and "Pillow Talk" last year. I really enjoyed both of them and own most of the other blus from the back catalog already. Never knew much about him before seeing these two releases, but he was a good actor.

Love Rock Hudson. He was so handsome and such a great actor. Hopefully we'll get more Blu-ray releases in the states soon.

While I have to admit that I'm not a HUGE fan of Rock Hudson's entire body of work I will also say that the films of his that I do like are some of my all time favorites. Along with great dramatic work in films like Giant and Ice Station Zebra he showed himself to be a true master of romantic comedy. Pillow Talk, Lover Come Back, and Send Me No Flowers are all great fun with Pillow Talk being a true classic. And then there's Man's Favorite Sport?... a film that always makes it on my list of top ten favorite movies.

Well, although I would prefer other films, it seems A Farewell to Arms will be coming too!
