what's the correct oar for this movie?
given all the music videos icluded, i expect 4:3 would be most likely. If that's the case i hope it doesn't get cropped for bd.
would be nice as well if warner could use the original UK poster art on this release, but i doubt we'll get that.

Hmm I only brought Moonwalker on region 2 DVD last year summertime. Its Dolby stereo 4.2.4 so you telling me a six-track Dolby stereo digital True version is going be hitting the stores around May on Bluray?

Yeah that would be major minus for Bluray the perfect format. I can sense some idiot messing it right up for picture and sound.

No dtsHDMA as Moonwalker was released in Dolby stereo SR and that is still rearguard as the best cinema analogue sound around.

Just to recap on what the region 2 DVD looks like.

I rather enjoyed the Smooth Criminal track nice use of silence as he enters the club all the chatting goes to silence. Jackson, flips a coin into the air and its spins with sweet soft flipping tinkle sound into, the jukebox and wow, wow magic, that is cool moment in the mix.

the original artwork, as used on the Guild VHS was a lot better than the DVD cover

Hmmm, might pick this up for 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Leave Me Alone'. Wonder how they will look on BD.

9 times out of 10 I’d say they’ll be lazy ass and use the old digital master tape and I’m almost sure there is green smearing in the DVD so it’s not going to look great not on the level of a new telecine with proper colour balance!

So don’t say, I didn’t warn you.

I might wiz though the DVD on the pc and look for offending poor green smearing as there are bright white lights in some scenes and if there is an blue colour around it its going to turn to crap! Not what is on the film print just crappy engineers who are colour-blind!

You have to ask me nicely to waste the rest of my evening checking the DVD out. You have to ask me nicely.

Or The Hunt For Red October! Oh yeah didn’t you know it has the same issues. The more things change. The more they stay the same.

where did you get that tape? it'll never fit in the box.

seriously, its nice art. i still have my vhs. watched it a couple months ago, didn't think the dvd was worth an upgrade, but yes for hd.
Thinking about it, a lot of this will technically be upscaled, as the music videos will mostly no doubt have originally been shot on sd video.

Can’t we upscale our VHS tapes then?

I put a few keywords in Google image and found the site quite easily.

Can people still believe that this film was a technical achievement when it came out?

Which part the part where they rig the performers with a device to lean forwards during “Smooth
Criminal”?

The frequency spectrum at 0db beat of the first few minutes of "Smooth Criminal".

Surprised to see the Dolby stereo SR logo on the end credits as the region 1 I think only shows Dolby stereo logo.
