I already have the blu-ray-if this turns out to be a great transfer i would get. One of my favorite movies while I was in High School about High School-Lori was always attractive-well, until you know.....Kelly Preston was no slouch either.

I got mine today. It is an improvement over the Olive release, but I find it hard to believe that this is a new 2k scan. It still looks like it was sourced from an older master to me. The opening credits are cleaned up and most the the dirt, debris and scratches that appeared on the Olive release are gone. There are still some small specs that pop up here and there throughout the film, but nothing real distracting. Grain is kind of all over the place. Sometimes it resolves well, sometimes it doesn't. I do think detail is better overall on the Kino release, but it's not going to blow anyone away either. I will be interested in hearing others thoughts on this one. I will give it to Kino for the better presentation of this film, and the clean up on the opening credits, but I was expecting slightly more from this after touting that it's sourced from a new 2k master from the 35mm interpositive.. There are times it looks decent, other times it's just a slightly noticeable improvement overall. It is an improvement over the old Olive release, just don't set your expectations too high.

I agree, it's not a phenomenal improvement... but it's still super gorgeous compared to the earlier Blu-ray. I got mine yesterday and watched it last night.. the sound is spectacular and the image is clearly better than the previous offering. Highly recommended for fans of this rather great teen '80s romance.

Surprised nobody has mentioned this is yet another disc that's inexplicably, erroneously mono. Olive disc was stereo as are previous transfers.This is a Dolby Stereo movie here downcoverted to flat mono and shouldn't be.

Agreed. The transfer is also extremely dark. Appears to have more detail but this one is a flub job, sadly, for the audio alone.
