![]() ![]() This is one I would really love to see hit blu-ray. Unfortunately, time may be running out for this drive-in classic. This is the only information I can find on the status of surviving widescreen prints of the film. Take it with a grain of salt:
For now, this is the best widescreen version available to the public Last edited by Scott J; 02-04-2016 at 07:51 PM. |

Can't agree more on the want for this one. I grew up with the Pierce films enjoying long, profitable runs and for years thought we'd never see good presentations of any of them. Now, with Town and Evictors out and Grayeagle and Winterhawk on the way, the desire for this one grows stronger. The widescreen photography and lighting would be wonderful on blu. The elusive The Winds of Autumn and Bootleggers (a year long run here in Baton Rouge!) would be welcome as well.

I was unaware about the upcoming blu-ray for Grayeagle and Winterhawk. Thank you Shout! Factory
![]() Perhaps there could be a double feature with Boggy Creek II. Being Shout!, they could include the MST3K episode. For fun, I know of a method that should work to extract the Mike and Bots silhouettes from the Standard Def 480i show and superimpose them on top of 1080p. Or if that didn't work well enough, just include their audio as a separate commentary track for the fun of it. EDIT: Just remembered Return to Boggy Creek http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078159/reference Not Directed by Charles B. Pierce, but it does feature Dawn Wells who was in The Town That Dreaded Sundown and Winterhawk. And I would be remiss to not mention the good performance from a young Dana Plato. It would be great to have this one in a Boggy Creek collection. Last edited by Scott J; 02-10-2016 at 04:23 AM. |
