Good looking artwork. I wouldn't have minded the old Studocanal Collection one either, but I do like this one better.

Looks nice and a personal favorite of mine that I still don't own.
Just out of curiosity, what does "ultra limited print run" mean? 1,000?

NICE! One of my all time faves, ever since I sold my Criterion last year I've hoped something like this would get released from Studio Canal.

What's the chance of a new transfer similar to Criterion's, nil? Studio Canal's wasn't bad, but when I rented the Criterion version, there was a very noticable difference.

2,000. Which is half of their normal "limited" runs of 4,000.

Yeah, pretty dark, it's considered by many to be the quintessential noir film.

wonder if this version is missing the bonus features...
if you want the "criterion transfer" you will have to get the bluray from Italy.

It's a British film-noir. The cover is actually reminiscent of the OOP Criterion edition, which was also quite dark. The entire film isn't like that, it's just the scenes that these covers portray are some of the more memorable parts of the movie.

One of my favourite films ever, but already have the Criterion issue

If I didn't, then this would be an immediate pre-order

Very nice packaging, but already have the Studio Canal version...if it was the same as the Criterion transfer I'd double dip...but I'll pass. Thanks for pics though!!

According to Zavvi's FB post about this release just now, this should be part of the 2 for £30... Well, not when I placed my order and still not right now. I have mentioned it to them on FB so hopefully it will be added to the sale!
