Good afternoon,
So I have decided to start this thread for everyone (I hope it is not only myself) to air their views and frustration on having to repurchase discs. So, after having to repurchase two discs already (Ghost in the Shell Laughing Man and a volume of My-HiME), my newest frustration came with watching the fifth and last disc of Lucky Star 5-disc Australian release. Having already observed obvious issues with the disc (scratch over part of the middle of the disc and some abrasion on the disc edge) I had no hope it would play fine. I tried it though, just to be rewarded with the all too familiar mechanical KA-KLUNK! KA-KLUNK! noise and freezing of the picture just before the preview for episode 20. Just when moving over the layer break I think. I am super irritated in having to purchase the whole set again. To top things off it was a brand new sealed copy so the scratches are inexplicable. I have read that Madman releases are notorious for the final disc always having playback issues. Any other experiences from fellow forum visitors with Madman releases? |
