EXCLUSIVE: Here is a hot package fast coming together at TriStar. I’m hearing George Clooney is in talks to direct Suburbicon, a script by Joel and Ethan Coen that will be produced by Joel Silver. It’s a noir drama in the vein of the Coens’ breakout film Blood Simple, with this a small crime drama set in the 1950s. Will tell you more when I know it, but the deals are being made right now.

Clooney’s relationship with the Coens spans such films as Intolerable Cruelty O B and,rother, Where Art Thou? Clooney, who is part of the ensemble of the upcoming Coen Brothers-directed Hail, Caesar!, just produced Our Brand Is Crisis, which reunited him with his Gravity co-star Sandra Bullock. Clooney most recently directed Monuments Men. He is repped by CAA, the Coens by UTA. Bet they get a killer cast, straight away.
