Thanks for posting the info Paul.

The Nut Job's 3D was mild to medium from the trailer shown before The Hobbit 2 in theaters. They were focused on the gags during the trailer, so I didn't get the sense of what the story was about. There was a skit in the trailer imitating Gollum, and "My precious" as Gollum is known to say.

If any one has seen this, please post your thoughts on the 3D. Thanks.

FYI:

Received "The Nut Job 3D" set from Amazon today but there is only a 2D Blu-ray included with DVD and Digital HD.

Returning it for a refund with message:

Different from website description:
Movie is advertised with the title: "The Nut Job 3D" and the set is supposed to contain a Blu-ray 3D + 2D + DVD + Digital HD, but the BD only has the 2D version on it. There is no 3D version on the Blu-ray disc!

Too bad, because it has a great 3D lenticular cover.

So did they send you the 2D blu ray case release with the 3D lenticular cover or did you receive the 3D bluray case release with the 3D lenticular cover and it had just the "2D" bluray and not the "3D/2D combo disc?"

I got my copy from BB and just checked and it was the correct 3D/2D combo disc.

They sent the 3D Blu-ray case release with the 3D lenticular but it only had a 2D Blu-ray and DVD inside. 3D is not printed on the disc and no choice for playing the movie in 3D.

Trying to verify" Does your BD 3D + 2D disc have 3D printed on the disc?

Very strange, this ebay seller says both play off a blu disc and shows a blu combo pack with a 3d combo slipcover.

I just bought this 3d blu-ray this morning. I'll give my impressions of this blu-ray soon. I saw this movie in the theater and while it's a pretty looking animated film, the story itself is awful. The 3d was nothing to write home about either. The visuals are pretty. That's the only reason I want this in my collection.

The first link has photos of different releases in its photo section. You can see two different UPC barcodes in photos. It confuses people.

Yes. The 3D/2D combo disc has 3D bluray printed on the disc.

Just watched it. The picture is full screen and has a pristine 1080p transfer. It looks much sharper and clear at home on my 55" LG TV. Overall, it looks great! The story and dialogue is as bad as I remember. The 3d is mild for the most part with some medium 3d shots here and there. The 3d still adds to the experience overall.

Does anyone know if the short film 'Nuts and Robbers' that is a bonus in this package is in 3D or 2D?

Just tested this and although it looks like it’s a 3-D short it only displays flat. Interestingly my projector stays in 3-D mode throughout. Will be interesting to hear from others.

Nuts and Robbers is also on at least one of the German Best of 3D discs.
