Default Where's Waldo? - Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg

Quote:
Hollywood's been toying with the idea of a Where's Waldo movie for years, and now it appears that one's finally going to happen. MGM's holding the rights to Martin Handford's beloved children's book series, they've got a script in place (from Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir), and now they're in the process of roping a couple of heavy-hitter producers into the project: Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.

Hunter and Shaffir, as you may or may not know, both worked as producers on several other Rogen/Goldberg projects (notably The Night Before and This Is The End), so it's not totally shocking to see these four working together again.

I'm not entirely sure how you make Where's Waldo work as a movie, but what the **** do I know? Hollywood has proven that virtually anything with an established fanbase can be turned into a movie (might not be a good movie, maybe, but that wasn't what we were talking about, was it?), and Rogen and Goldberg have a decent enough track record that I'm curious what the final product will look like.

Where's Waldo will be dumped into theaters unexpectedly and without a marketing campaign, and it will be up to moviegoers to find it. Keep your eyes peeled.

There's nothing Hollywood won't do to make money.

ha!

This is one of those films that sounds really dumb but then I see a name like Seth Rogen and I think, "hey, maybe that could be fun"

The first thing I think of is the viva la bam episode where don vito is dressed up as waldo

Yeah, Rogen and Goldberg can do what ever they like, not everything they do is golden but at their worst they still make watchable entertainment.

I don't know who Goldberg is but every time I see Seth Rogen's name attached to something I immediately lose interest. The guy is not funny and just obnoxious.

As for how they could make a movie work, they could do something like early-90s cartoon, and have Waldo and his friends traveling to various lands and having a series of adventures.

This is actually brilliant. James Franco would be a perfect Toad.
