What is the video quality on digital services like these days, compared to DVD only? I'm especially interested in cartoon series, as there are barely any decent DVD releases of cartoon series anymore.
Digital seems to offer several advantages: Much more variety Better compression (H264 vs MPEG2) Progressive vs interlaced transfers No need to worry about NTSC vs PAL (PAL speedup) No need to worry about DVD rot (recently noticed a few discs went bad over time) Cartoon series in particular often seem to offer higher quality (high definition) and other advantages (widescreen versions) on digital services too. |
