I've just seen this today (in 2D, in the States) and I loved it, easily my favorite film of 2016 so far. As far as I'm concerned, this is Disney's best film in years, possibly since The Lion King, and it easily equals a Pixar film and surpasses a few of them, including Inside Out, which I found excellent, and very interesting, but also complicated. The beauty of this film, for me, is that it is almost totally neutral entertainment, and much more like a classic film in that regard. The story is probably closer to something from the glory days of the 70s and 80s, only with CGI animal characters instead of people. I never thought that this film would be able to amuse me so much, while keeping the plot very light and accessible, and then balancing that with some seriously impressive animation, including the diverse and colorful world of the city itself. Disney deserves a lot of credit for this one, and I may actually go back and find a 3D screening, just to see what the 3D render is like.

Regardless, I will be importing the UK version as well, for the differences, and maybe even some others, too, like Japan, or Australia, or China, all of whom have localized animals as newscasters.

What? Why did they change the name to Zootropolis just for the UK? Pretty sure the English know what Utopia means.

Blame the Danish.

Just kidding, but there is apparently a forthcoming attraction in Denmark that is to be called "Zootopia", and apparently, some of Disney's "Zootopia" trademarks would interfere with that zoo's trademarks, which it had registered already. Hence in the UK, the film is called Zootropolis, and this probably explains why the film is not called "Zootopia" anywhere in Europe, even though most of the continent should know what "utopia" is, too.

I like the name Zootropolis, it makes a little more sense to me seeing they spend the entire movie in one city.

Finally managed to catch this at a mid afternoon screening with mostly retiree's and we all had a collective blast with this film. Might be the best Disney films in years. Preferred this to Big Hero 6 and Frozen, can't wait to get this on Blu-Ray.

FYI for those in the UK, Europe, or who need/want European language support. The scans for the Zootropolis edition sold in Poland have been added to a database here, and it seems that neither 2D nor 3D disc contains lossless audio, or in fact, anything beyond lossy 1509 kips DTS 5.1 audio tracks.

Based on the language support offered on the Polish 3D disc, this probably applies to editions of the film sold in the Czech Republic and in the Nordic countries, too.

According to its scan, the version with German and Italian support contains English: DTS-HD MA 7.1 (and German: DTS-HD HR 7.1) on both discs. I do worry that this could be down to DIsney using audio from a UK version of the film for the UK and mucking up, but I'm obviously not sure what the UK will end up with, so this is just a precaution for many.

EDIT: Actually, Amazon.es has the covers up for the Spanish editions, and they are very likely the UK discs, since they appear to have an English: DTS-HD MA 7.1 track, along with the requisite English: Dolby Digital 2.0 audio description track and English SDH/HoH subtitles, and there would be no other reason for them to have either of they were not being sold in the UK, since Australia and Asia get Zootopia renders, anyway. There is obviously also precedent for Disney sharing discs between the UK and Portugal/Spain before, too.
