Default Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros (2-Movie Collection) coming in 2014?

From The Digital Bits:

And here’s something Rumor Mill worthy... the Disney Wiki has listed street dates for upcoming Disney Diamond Edition Blu-ray animated titles, including Sleeping Beauty (10/2), 101 Dalmatians (2/3/15), Aladdin (10/6/15), and Pinocchio (2/2/16). The very same Wiki has also listed the following additional BD releases for this year: Muppets Most Wanted (June), Hercules (6/10), Tarzan (6/10), A Goofy Movie & An Extremely Goofy Movie (2-Movie Collection – 6/24), Mickey, Donald and Goofy: The Three Musketeers (Summer), The Black Cauldron: Special Edition (8/19), Bears (8/26), Fun and Fancy Free (9/30), The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (9/30), Saludos Amigos & The Three Caballeros (2-Movie Collection – 12/2), Make Mine Music & Melody Time (2-Movie Collection – 12/2), and Planes: Fire & Rescue (12/9). Salt this information appropriately, but still... these dates make sense. Thanks to Bits reader Bill M. for the heads-up.

I ended up prediciting the compilation movies correctly.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fun and Fancy Free and The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad end up being a 2-movie collection too.

I the Disney 1940's films like these.... I want them all!

I wonder if we will have the characters smoking again? I think they removed Goofy Smoking at one point but since then Disney has issued many films that feature smoking with Smoke Warning ads... It would be nice to get the original untouched version.

I just wish these releases started now in the spring and went thru the summer. but still I'm glad it sounds like we are getting them.

I love those movies. Don't know why but I like them better than movies like Dumbo and some of the other big classics they did. Hoping they do a good transfer with some cool special features for these.

I think it's a little bit questionable that after a non-Diamond catalog drought since September all of a sudden there's going to be a deluge such that by the end of the year every Disney animated feature through Frozen will be available on Region A-compatible Blu-ray. It'd sure be nice, but i'm skeptical.

Without any actual announcement and date from Disney I think all of these threads belong in rumor mill.

Really like this news. I hope that it's all true. Would be nice to have many of these movies on Blu-Ray finally.

I understand being skeptical. I am, too, though I'm hoping it's definitely true. Having the rest of the non-Diamond titles released all so close to one another is cool, if it happens.

You think they'd spread it out... unless they're trying to phase out Blu-ray to shift to an all-digital releasing format.

( Just kidding. )

In the past there have been 6, 7, 8 Animated Classics released in one year, possibly more (I don't have time to go back and check the exact schedule) but getting 6 package films –in 4 discs– and 2 classics is not like they are suddenly trying to dump what is left by the end of the year... It's very much sticking to the schedule they have held for the past few years.

Which they seem to have broken from with no catalog releases since Winnie The Pooh in August. I'm just saying there's no real evidence for this speculation, and no justification for all this stuff not being in rumor mill or the existing Disney Animated thread.

There are only a few Walt Disney Animation Studios films left and 4 of them are being released as 2-Movie Collections... Naturally, they are going to be spread out a bit more than they have in the past, but Disney has been fairly consistent with releasing their back catalog at a steady pace.

September to February has typically been a slow time for catalog releases, but they released
Mickey's Christmas Carol and A Very Merry Pooh-year in November.
Mary Poppins in December.
The Jungle Book in February.
Frozen, Springtime With Roo & The Jungle Book 2 in March.
And it's very possible that I've missed a couple.

Hercules and Tarzan had already been rumored (and briefly posted on Disney's official site,) so, this rumored schedule seems very likely and the inclusion of The Three Musketeers makes me feel like there may be some truth to it, because who would just randomly come up with that title out of all of the films they could choose from?

Actually that title is the only other catalog title that's been officially announced
(the other one is Sleeping Beauty) so far. been at least a few weeks since they did.

Exciting if these dates turn out to be true,
the only thing agravting is it looks like DuckTales the movie will wind up getting the shaft in regards to a bluray release, just as it did on DVD

Was hoping I could finally sell off my Disney Movie Rewards exclusive DVD, but i suspect we will never see a wide stateside release of DuckTales the movie on Disc.

UK editions of the 6-11 titles are the only ones I'm bothered about. I'd get them if they were available over here but I don't think I'd spend the money to import them.

I'd say this release schedule looks plausible enough (though it could turn out to be false later on). I'd bank on at least Ichabod's release date being true, though as there will be a screening of the film somewhere around September. (Can't find the link right now). I doubt they'd "Sword in the Stone" Ichabod's transfer it if it was going to be screened publically (possibly with a talk before the screening about the restoration process?). Those rushed sorts of restorations are usually done for shoehorned onto Blu-Ray titles (like SitS).

Would be good to have the other 1940's films to round off the collection.

EDIT: Anyone else noticed that the link doesn't work anymore. Maybe Disney requested it be removed?...

I too wouldn't be surprised if Ichabod and Fun & Fancy ended up as a double-pack.

Now when's Song of the South coming?

I think the fact that it seems to make sense, and we can draw all these inferences, but we have no actual announcements, is exactly why this belongs in wish lists, whatever it's a minor point.

That's an open edit wiki. I hope you don't consult Wikipedia as a peer reviewed journal.

http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/The_Disney_Wiki
"The Disney Wiki is a free, public and collaborative encyclopedia for everything related to Walt Disney and the Disney corporation: theme parks, film companies, television networks, films, characters, and more. The wiki format allows anyone to create or edit any article, so we can all work together to create a comprehensive database for Disney fans. Check out the Help pages to get started!"

Note that there's no actual source for any of this beyond pure speculation. I mean I hope it's true but it's like I posted on here saying Big Hero 6 Blu-ray/Digital Copy combo pack is going to come out on 3/17/15, and then a thread being made because I posted that.

Just wrote an article about it, stressed that it was all rumor at this point. The lack of pre-sales for Tarzan and Hercules seems to be a big red flag.
