I was wondering if some people buy the 3D version of blu rays even if they do not own a 3D tv? I do not own a 3D tv but always wanted one and sometimes I wonder if I should have bought some of my blu rays with the 3D version instead of the 2D ones I bought ( just in case I get a 3D tv someday). Since the 3D versions come with the 2D blu included you are not really losing out, only paying a bit more for that version but fool proofing yourself if down the road you buy a 3D tv. What seems to be a shame is that many of the newer 4k tv's do not come with 3D (though if I were to get a new tv someday would try to by a 1080p with 3D if they still make them). That would be an upgrade from my 720p tv. Before I got my blu ray player I bought one blu ray, the first seaon of VEEP because it also came with dvd's that I could watch until I made the decision to by a blu ray player. Feel like I missed out by not buying 3D copies of blu ray's just in case I do get a 3D tv someday.
