Question about PS3 MGS4 Bundle - Blu-ray Forum

Although the news articles state that Japan is getting the Steel PS3 MGS4 Bundle, it will be the 40GB version though. Now I know that I have also read that the United States is also getting the PS3 MGS4 Bundle, but I believe it is going to be the 80GB PS3 right?

My question is, will it be just like the original 80GB PS3 that Sony discontinued back in February with the exception that it will be Steel colored instead of the glossy black finish? Will it still have the 4 USB ports and Media Card slots, etc?

The 80GB model included in the bundle here (North America), is supposedly the standard glossy black color with all the same features, i.e. media card slots, 4 USB ports, software assisted PS2 backwards compatibility, etc.

The steel color one is Japan ONLY at this point.

the steel ps3 also has 2 usb ports on the back of the system which id be willing purchasing a new one just for that since i have my external hooked up to it and its annoying with the wire plugged in the front looks tacky

U.S. bundle includes the regular glossy black 80GB PS3, not the steel color 40GB one. That's Japan only at the moment.

Do you think SONY will incorporate the 65nm microchips inside this PS3 MGS4 bundle or still keep the old 90nm while staying with the 65nm in the 40GB?

I would think these new 80GB PS3s will have the 65nm chip.

I could do with 2 USB ports on the back, although I do need more I have a USB hub for it. 1 for my ex HDD, 1 for PSeye, 1 for Play TV (when it comes out), 1 for other HDD I'll be getting next year and I am considering getting a printer for the PS3 and my PC to share.

Ya as said before. US only get the standard 80gig but it will come w/ a dual shock 3.

I got the 80 gig with motorstorm and the bundle came with a extra controller...I'll buy a duel shock when they come out...I know motorstorm is probably old to most...But my first time playing it was yesterday...And all i have to say is..WOW...great graphics..great music...Online was smooth
Only problem is i wish it had multiplayer so me and my wife dont have to take turns...She always wants to take 2 or 3 extra turns...
