Default Favorite Crime Procedural?

OK, so most know that Dick Wolf popularized the whole genre with "Homicide: Life on the Street" and "Law & Order"...but what are your faves, either past or present?

Mine are easily "Castle" and "Person of Interest". I love the playful banter on the former, and Johnathan Nolan really turned the concept on its head for the latter series. I also like "NCIS: Los Angeles", but haven't kept up with it recently.

The only one I watch is Criminal Minds. I only started watching it because of Mandy Patinkin and somehow ended up stuck with it. Getting a bit long in the tooth now though...

I hate the genre, but I watch Person of Interest since it's much more than that.

Of those listed it would be a toss up between Castle and Homicide.

True Detective would probably blow them all away though, even with just the one season so far.

Also really liked Cold Case, so would probably pick that if it were on there.

From the list I only have watched Person of Interest, which is a very entertaining series.

They all have their own strengths and weaknesses. Bones has great characters, Person Of Interest has a smart and well developed concept, Hawaii Five-O is a little bit of everything with a gorgeous location, Castle is kind of like Bones with the strong characterization yet at the same time very different, etc.

Medium was good. I liked how it was slightly otherworldly while being very grounded in how realistic the family felt.

But if I had a favourite of the moment it'd probably be The Blacklist. I loved the first season. Subtle, intelligent, beautiful writing that really engrosses the audience. Watching the story unfold between Reddington and Keen amidst the weekly chaos is masterfully handled.
