Apparently, Senator's Halloween (Rob Zombie's version) is region free, which could indicate a better than average chance these movies will be region free. I believe they got delayed because the distributor wanted a region free release and Weinstein asked them to hold off in order to give them a chance to release their versions first.

Also, I think Planet Terror is no longer a steelbook and Death Proof still is (at least according to the pictures on Amazon Germany).

Has anyone purchased the Halloween steelbook? I want to buy it, but I want to make sure its a steelbook.

Also, is 1408 region free? If the answer is yes to any or both questions, is anyone planning on buying them. Maybe we can a get a group buy.

*EDIT* Just saw on amazon that 1408 is Region 2...boo!

I can also confirm that this is definitely Region Free with English DTS MA. And just as iamlilc said it is not the Unrated version or workprint but the Theatrical Version!! Very happy with this.
