Default Finding Headphone:X material

I can easily track down DTS:X and Dolby Atmaos movies if I want, but what about Headphone:X material? Is there a list somewhere or lists either commercial or maintained by hobbyists? I have been very impressed by all of the demo material I have found and would like to find out what is out there. I am guessing that there isn't a whole lot out there as the industry doesn't seem to be scrambling to get material out. Too bad. I would love to have the format as an option when watching a disc on a protable player or watching a streaming movie or listening to music. I wouldn't take it over a real surround system, but when stuck with headphones, which happens to me a lot of late, I would love to have the option.

Thanks for any information,

Chris

I don't quite understand your proposition / question. How are you going to get 11.1 or 7.1.4 sound out of 2 speakers. Headphones are just a stereo listening system/ 2 speakers.

Can you tell us more about what you are seeking?

As I said, I am looking for material mastered in or processed in or whatever the proper term is in DTS Headphone:X. I don't know how it actually functions to simulate up to 11.1 channels in a stereo format, you will have to ask DTS. I just was curious as to what material might be available in it. The first release using the technology was the Man of Steel soundtrack. I don't have that one, but I have listened to demo material at DTS's page for the technology and on YouTube and, while it is most definitely simulated surround, it is the best simulated surround I have encountered. There are a couple of demos with a voice going around and naming the channels and the voice pretty convincingly seems to come from each direction up to and including the front and back height channels, though I found those to be the least convincing on the demos I listened to.

Regards,

Chris

Ex-Machina. i just googled your subject matter and got this:
"About 1,470,000 results "

so, there is plenty of info on the subject matter and I'm sure plenty of those offer demos or movies (or music) available that support that codec. good luck.

this thread will probably help people out who want to get into Headphone: X

This dedicated thread for DTS Headphone:X seems to be what you are looking for. They use a sound processing algorithm to simulate the multi-channel soundfields. Also mentions a Dolby Headphone equivalent process.
I had no idea they are able to do this.

Verrrrry Interesting!

just to make myself clear, I listed a movie that uses Headphone:X (as that's what the OP wanted) as an option and I stated that I googled the subject matter of this thread, Headphone:X and listed how many hits I got about it. the OP could have simply googled it and found a ton of info on the tech and the movies that supported it.

got me now?

The OP never posts without Googling first. The OP went through a good number of the many, many hits over several days and found information on only a couple of movies and one CD release plus a lot of demos that were interesting and informational, but not exactly what one wants to collect.

The OP is also blind and after going through a lot of pages that weren't very screen reader friendly thought that perhaps some fellow list members had some interest in the subject, particularly those interested in this subforum and might have some knowledge and be able to share it as has been the case a number of times in my experience. For example, there used to be a searchable database for the obscure HDCD format, years ago I found that database not through repeated searches, but through member discussion on AVS, so when the hits from searches fail to provide some info or I get frustrated by trying to get info out of web pages that give Window Eyes, my screen reader, trouble, I give forums a try. Sorry to have been such a poor list member. I do try to get what info I can from searches before posting. Perhaps I gave up too soon, but after pages like DTS's own, which read me parts of random seeming lines of the text on the page over and over and that would not allow me to navigate through the page to try to ferret out some more intelligible text all because of some dynamic content that could have been included without messing with blind readers with very little effort on the part of the page developers, and after trying the page on my iPhone using the VoiceOver screen reader and getting the same results, I guess I lost patience and posted inappropriately.

Sorry,

Chris

Dude, chill.
There really isn't much DTS Headphone:X content.
Even using Google won't display the results you want until you use the right operators. DTS Headphone:X is not the most sought after format.

Go easy on the guy.

There wasn't any intention of being harsh on anyone here. After it being stated that I should have used Google and done my research myself, I wanted to be clear that I had googled several permutations of relevant terms and did actually check out many of the results. I didn't expect to get much information, I am aware how new and obscure Headphone:X is, it seems more likely to fail than to succeed given what information I have been able to successfully gather and read on my own, but after several days of dealing with accessibility issues on many pages, I thought it might be useful to ask on the forum and find out if anyone had any information or knew of titles I had not run into yet. I didn't respond to being chided initially for not doing my own work, but after my wrongs were pointed out again, I felt I should clarify and did so in the same terms and tone as was used to discuss me. Nothing more, no huge thing. Perhaps the fact of my posting is even worse since I posted after using Google myself. I don't know. But I felt I should clarify my actions and motives regardless. Again, I am sorry about all of this, I just intended for the sharing of whatever little is out there on the topic as I like the technology and also like collecting obscure niche technologies. Nothing more.

Sorry,

Chris
