Default Watching International crime/mystery shows

I would like to put down my thoughts/reviews of the International crime/mystery genre episodes I watch. Would love to hear any/all who also enjoy this genre to put down theirs.

I'll start out with this one I watched!

MASTERPIECE Mystery! on PBS.

Prime Suspect: Tennison, Episode 1

The year is 1973 and Jane Tennison (the beautiful Stefanie Martini) 22 (she is still living with her parents) is starting her job as a rookie at a Hackney police station, a really rough part of town. She has to tackle the on-the-job sexism while trying to prove her worth. She makes the mistake of getting too close to her male supervisor, DI Len Bradfield (Sam Reid). She is thrust into her first case which turns out to be the murder of a 17-year-old prostitute. In the by-line story there is the crime-family leader (Alun Armstrong) latest plot.

This looks like my 'cup of tea' in this prequel that has that ambience I really enjoy. Looking forward to more!

Broadchurch Season 3 Episode 1

We start out 3 years after the Latimers case. We are introduced to detectives Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) investigating the brutal rape of Trish Winterman (Julie Hesmondhalgh). Trish is reporting every step that she can remember (actually she really gives no clues) to a more gentle and thoughtful Hardy and Miller.
Supposedly this happened on Saturday at her friend Cath Atwood's (Sarah Parish) party but she does not report this until the following Tuesday because of shame and shock.
We see glimpses of would be suspects, Hardy staring down a cab driver outside Trish's house who he thinks looks suspicious. Jim (Mark Bazeley) the husband of Cath, who we are shown has the same brand of condom in his car glove compartment as the one found at the crime scene and the mystery has started...

This was an excellent first episode and if they are all like this, WOW! It has all my 'cup of tea' ingredients: mystery, outdoor shots, etc.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist), has been duped by the court over an expose that Blomkvist published in Millennium magazine about the wealthy industrialist Wennerström (Stefan Sauk). Wennerström sued and won, and the Swedish court has imposed a fine and a three-month prison term.

Henrik Vanger (Sven-Bertil Taube), the 82-year-old head of the Vanger Group, an industrial conglomerate asks Blomkvist to use the months before he must report to prison to investigate a 40-year-old murder: that of Vanger’s favorite niece, Harriet.

Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) works as a researcher (aka a real great hacker) for Milton Security and is asked by Vanger's attorney to check out Blomkvist before he can look into the murder of Harriet and then...

This is an excellent, well-paced thriller that meets all my 'cup of tea' criteria!

Broadchurch Season 3 Episode 2

We have many suspicious characters that could have committed the sexual assault crime, such as Trish’s estranged husband Ian Winterman (Charlie Higson), mechanic Jim Atwood (Mark Bazeley) and dodgy cabbie Clive Lucas (Sebastian Armesto). Ian refused to give a DNA test and we see him cleaning his clothes and muddy shoes, what's up with that? Trish admits she had sex with a stranger that same Saturday morning of said assault, whoa! And the mystery thickens...to our delight!!

I would love to watch it, however I do not see it available anywhere in the US (where I live) as of now.

Looks like it has some of my 'cup of tea' criteria with that beautiful country look!

The Loch (TV series)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Loch
Also known as Loch Ness
Genre Crime drama

The Loch (also known as Loch Ness) is a six-part British television drama series, created by screenwriter Stephen Brady, that first broadcast on ITV on 11 June 2017.[1] The series follows small town policewoman Annie Redford (Laura Fraser), as she investigates the murder of piano teacher Niall Swift, who is found dead at the bottom of a cliff in the picturesque village of Lochnafoy, Loch Ness. When it becomes apparent that part of Swift's brain has been removed, and a human heart belonging to another victim is found close by, Annie's team realise they are searching for a serial killer, and major investigation detective DCI Lauren Quigley (Siobhan Finneran) is brought in to lead the enquiry.[2]
Supporting cast includes Don Gilet as psychological profiler Blake Albrighton, John Sessions as Annie's boss DCI Frank Smilie, Gray O'Brien as Alan Redford, Annie's husband, and William Ash as local tourist operator Leighton Thomas. The series was filmed in the summer of 2016 and was shown in full in the Netherlands and Australia before its British broadcast. The Netherlands also released the series on DVD in May 2017, a month before the series premiered in the UK.[3] In both countries, the series was aired under its original title of Loch Ness.
The series is set for release on DVD in the United Kingdom on 17 July 2017.[4]

Broadchurch S3 E3

The man who owned the party Arthur Tamworth (Richard Hope) is another potential suspect. He told Hardy & Miller that he hung around the waterfall (crime scene) as a child. Ian Winterman ( Charlie Higson) admits that he had drunk so much tequila that he blacked out, guess where, down by the lake (crime scene) again.

Howabout Michael Lucas (Deon Lee-Williams) the stepson of the sketchy cabbie Clive Lucas or Tom Miller’s porn-watching pal (they were both caught and disciplined to picking up trash at the church and once finished on the way home were watching said porn, oh my). Could they be acting out what they saw on-line?

Trish still does not want to tell Hardy & Miller who she slept with on the day of the attack.

On the side we have the Latimers, especially Mark dealing with their son's (Danny) death. Mark still wants to go after Joe Miller.

There are so many suspects and twists & turns that keeps us so riveted. This is an excellent series, love it!
