From the trailers this one seems interesting, in terms of the setting and incorporation of Japanese myth / folklore into the "Chosen One" archetype story.

Can't wait to see this, loved all the previous Laika stop motion features, even The Boxtrolls which left me a bit cold on first viewing, and Kubo looks incredible. I really appreciate how all their movies cater to stranger and weirder stories than the often mass marketed / family crowd fluff of stuff like Minions and Pixar movies (don't get me wrong I love Pixar), but are still aimed at a younger audience.
The artwork for the 3D set looks amazing, I hope they don't change it. I may have to have a Coraline-Paranorman-Boxtrolls 3D marathon in the run up to this on blu.

This might be Laika's first true masterpiece. It's sophisticated, deep and heartfelt as well as jaw droppingly beautiful. It didn't hit until later this evening why it was called Kubo and the two strings... Blimey! Not even the blooming pre-teens in my screening could ruin this experience for me. Day one for sure.

Any clue about audios and subs tracks availables on this edition?
I'm from Spain and there'll only be a 2D edition released here.
Thanks in advance. Regards.

Does the 3D version have a lenticular slipcover? I dont have a 3D player but would like my Laika blu rays to match! Looks like there arent many about as most the pics on HMV store Twitter accounts only show the 2D

The 3D version does have a Lenticular slipcover. My local HMV only had the one 3D copy out on the shelves at least.
I am the same as having all the Laika releases with the Lenticular slipcovers

Is the HMV comic any good? Is it a comic book story or a "making of" booklet etc?

Just a heads up - the 3D version is currently £10.80 from Zoom using code SIGNUP10. Was waiting for a healthy price drop!

Just wondering if the standard 2D version came with a slip at any point?

Ordered the 5.08 one from Amazon (when it dropped on Friday) and it arrived yesterday without a slip... but, at this price, I'm not really concerned, more a case of wondering of it ever had a slip
