Disney Dumbo 3D Blu-ray (2019) [Region Free]

Dumbo has been released on REGION FREE 3D Blu-ray worldwide except in America and Australia where it was released in 2D, so 3D-lovers from those countries will have to import it from the UK, Germany, France, or anywhere else in Europe or Asia:

Dumbo 3D Blu-ray

Dumbo 3D Blu-ray

Dumbo 3D Blu-ray

Dumbo 4K + 3D Blu-ray

Original post:
Hope this gets a 3D release.

Interesting, thanks. Burton's Miss Peregrine had a good 3D conversion. Here's hoping this gets one also. Beauty and the Beast's Trailer 3D looks low medium to medium 3D.

Danny DeVito as the Penguin was a clever take on it, but way too gritty and morbid for the penguin I was hoping to see. When he bit into the fish and starting spitting out the dark blood on his face, not a good portrayal of the classic Penguin character, but that was the risk he took. Seems like he'll play a good guy in Dumbo.

Guessing this won't be in theaters till 2018.

Just found this on Wikipedia.

"Dumbo is set to be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on March 29, 2019. The first trailer was released on June 13, 2018"

New trailer - confirmed in 3D at the end. It looks really awesome. I had a strange and unexpected emotional reaction watching this!

I don't think I've ever seen the original but the most important thing is that this gets a 3D blu, at least here in the UK.

The potential should be huge for pop outs in this one. Especially the trunk.

I didn't know Michael Keaton was in this Dumbo remake. Cool. But hopefully they offer plenty of Dumbo Elephant trunk pop outs when appropriate, and water splashes, along with Dumbo flying out of the screen.

The early buzz is that this is Tim Burton’s best live action movie for years. How do people feel about the 3D in Burton’s previous movies (Alice In Wonderland, Frankenweenie, Miss Peregrin’s Home)?

They all had good 3D IMO, as a movie I didn't care much for Miss Peregrine but I really like his Alice in Wonderland and Frankenweenie is really good.

So as this is Disney it probably won't get a 3D home release, barring a surprise MovieNEX combo?

If it makes enough money there's a possibility that it may get a 3D Blu-ray release somewhere, but if it doesn't make enough it is as good as guaranteed that Disney will dump it out flat just as they did with Pete's Dragon, A Wrinkle In Time and The Nutcracker And The Four Realms.

I think this stands a better chance than those of making some serious money.

As far as the circus theme in Dumbo, Barnum & Bailey's circus went out of business after they took elephants out of their shows due to animal rights pressure. Plus the whole "scary" clown theme was replaced with goofy actors in tuxedos. So it'll be interesting to see if there's a group out there protesting against the movie's theme of elephants in the circus, along with his name "Dumb-o", suggesting that elephants are dumb, even though they're said to be perceptive and intelligent.

Levcore, good points. I believe many families will be eager to see a cute baby elephant onscreen in Dumbo. Hopefully the big box office will result in blu ray 3D.

Of all the Disney movies, I've never seen this play on national broadcast TV in all the years growing up and even to this day. I guess I should finally watch it, as the only clip I ever see is when he's in the fire scene at the circus and has to put the fire out, along with the clowns.

Peregrine's 3D was mostly medium, with some high medium 3D, a few stronger slow motion shots.
Didn't see Frankenweenie yet.
Alice in Wonderland's 3D was very good for its time, with clear 3D layers in the medium to high medium range. I'll have to watch it again. It's been years.

Hard to imagine folks have never seen Dumbo -- Elephants and Trains were a staple at my house for years in large part due to the movie. In the 90's I bet bet kids watched my Laserdisc 100's of times and the oldest was a massive fan. One of the first trips to Disney World when he was 4 or so I waited in line 75 minutes for that ride (twice) -- absolutely no way to avoid that - and honestly having a 4-5yo at Disney is worth any kind of wait.

Dumbo posters, Dumbo stuffed animals, Dumbo sippy cups.
Made the Barnum and Bailey circuses when the came to town a massive hit as well getting to see real Dumbo's. He was always somewhat skittish around most animals, but I do have a picture with him riding a small Elephant as some Zoo we went to around 8 or 9yo.

Saw a 3D trailer for this in front of Captain Marvel. The conversion looks fantastic - looks like this is going to be a visual stunner. A 8-10 minute clip showing Dumbo's first flight in the big top (after being sent to the top of a fake burning building) is available on youtube that was taken from a screening at one of the Disney parks. It looks pretty great, and the score by Elfman sounds like it'll be a great one.
