I doubt that’s happening now. In the past, Criterion has released a blu-ray box set and then done individual 4K releases. This time, we’re getting the individual 4K releases first, so no real reason to do a box set.

I thought it'd be a while longer before more Kurosawa would be released, since Seven Samurai is happening in November. Really looking forward to watching the 4k's of these and I hope more Kurosawa 4k releases will be coming soon.

It only took till Jan. 2025 for Criterion to put out a 4K release I deem worthy.

Makes a strong case for greatest Criterion announcement in a long time. Seven Samurai was awesome but very predictable. Now we know the Kurosawa floodgates are open, and they're not wasting time between releases, it's all very exciting.
