Default Best way to sell a Plasma 50" ? Panasonic VIERA TC-P50ST50

Trying to figure out what is the best way to try and sell a 2012 Panasonic 50" ?

Panasonic VIERA TC-P50ST50 , Still has one year left on the extended warranty from ABT . Like new with like new box and excellent working remote .

Is craigslist the best way to go ? Though I hate to have strangers coming to my house I could show them the tv working and then box it up with them . Has anyone here sold a big tv online before ?

Thanks to any helpful suggestions .

Craigslist Definitely! The TV will be more desireable because the warranty is still in place. I would recommend you have a couple of big friends just be at your house during the sale just in case. Just sell it as pick up only, good luck!

Thank you , That's great advice . For big electronics wouldn't the potential buyer want to see it work ? I'm all for not having anyone in my house but it might not sell or get what I think it may be worth .

What about the money exchange ? Simple cash only sounds like the most sensible , offering paypal may just be asking for trouble and they can pretend there is something wrong with it and paypal would give the money right back to them ... And I would be screwed .

I'll make it easy for you, you can just drive it to my house and drop it off.

Cash and carry is the best way to go. No muss no fuss, demo the tv, then they give you the green, and take it away. Sometimes when I have sold an item, on craigslist I will give the buyer a written bill of sale, just to be on the up and up.

Just curious, are you selling it because you're buying a new TV, or you need the money? You know Plasma HDTVs have been discontinued, and they are in demand. You may regret it when you sell it! If I were you, I would keep it because it just may come in handy someday.

Slimdude's got a point. Not sure which model the ST is but those '12 Panny Plasmas were susposta be the creme de la creme. You may be hard pressed to find a set with better picture quality. If you do indeed have a Panny Plasma in mint condition, then you would have a very rare and valuable item on your hands.

If I did not already own a Panny Plasma, I would certainly be making an offer to take it off your hands right now.

Also remember to tell whoever you sell it to that they have to transport it vertically. If they lay it down flat and go over a bump it will crack the screen glass.

Well at the moment we have a brand new led for everyday use in our living-family room , Led's suck unless you sit right in the middle of the tv . The plasma is night and day over any led I have ever scene .

The plasma is
sitting in what we thought would be the entertainment room (which is just a bedroom ) it is way too big for such a small room and in the summer you can feel the heat from the plasma . I wanted the plasma to be for bluray only viewing and not use it for everyday viewing anymore knowing that I will never be able to get a tv like this again . Why I want to sell is I need to save money to buy a OLED set next year . Sony is coming out with some and the prices should start going down a little now that LG has competition , Panny make them in Euro market , Maybe those will come here too (there the best but the most expensive ). I also like to have a 4K tv set for future enjoyment . Which neither of my 2 tvs are . If I had the Panny vt or zt from 2013 I would never sell it . Those are the best tvs ever made I think . This is a ST50 from 2012 , Beautiful picture but not as good as the 2013 models .

There's a guy at HTF who is mulling over buying a used plasma.
