Default blu-ray movie not in HD

I have a pentium core 2 duo processor (2.4ghz), 2gb ram, and an Lg blu-ray drive. I purchased an asus en7950gt/htdp/512M graphics card today which says on the box it is HDCP compatible. My monitor is also hdcp, a fujitsu-siemens p24-1w, 1920x1200 resolution (24 inch wide screen). I installed the nvidia 92.91beta software, the lg power dvd disk that came with the drive, and the update from cyberlink. I have two blu-ray movies, 'House of Flying Daggers' and 'Stargate'. They both play without a problem but they are no better through the dvi connection than they are through vga. It is quite obvious to me that they are not in HD. I can play HD from my sony video camera and it looks great, but the movies simply do not. Either the movies are crap or something is wrong. I can burn blu-ray bd-re and bd-r so everything else is working properly. When I check 'information' for the movie that is playing it says it is HD and shows a rate of 18-20mb/sec. There is simply no detail. In fact I think my normal dvd's are better, or at least the same. No errors or warnings appear. How can one tell if one truly is hdcp compliant if the software gives no indication of any failure? I know many graphics cards are hdcp ready, which means they could be hdcp if only they had the proper chips. I suppose they could also be 'airplane' ready if only that had engines and wings. This card however is reviewed in many many places and is supposed to be definitely hdcp. So is the monitor. Where am I going wrong? Any ideas would be appreciated. I should also mention I did a clean install of window xp pro. There is no other software on the machine (it was time to clean it up anyway).
