So I've been a movie collector for a long time. Whenever I buy a movie, I like to get a nice slipcover if possible. However, I usually just end up putting it in my "slipcover box" and call it a day.
Today, I ended up purchasing 150 steelbook protective cases for my steels. So I ended up going through my box to get the J-Cards for my cases. As I was going through my slips, I thought about putting them on my Blu's. I did, but I'm not really thrilled. It bothers me that some movies don't have slips at all. Some of the slips have manufacturer's stickers (i.e. Best Buy, Target, Ultraviolet, free movie ticket promos, etc). Some are super tight, which makes it more difficult to remove. It also makes my collection look more bulky and unbalanced. IDK, I think I might put them back in the box. I like to have them, but I don't think I like them on my shelf. However, the blus that DO have slips, they really *pop* off the shelf. I don't really have any friends that collect movies too, so this is my only resource for discussion! So I was just curious what everyone else does? Do you keep the slipcovers on or off? Do you remove the stickers on the slips? Any ideas to make my collection look less jagged with the slips on? We'll see what happens. I appreciate everyone's feedback! |

Right now, I have my movies in alphabetical order (including TV shows & box sets, bigger box sets are separate of course) and I have my blus and DVDs on different shelves. I don't think I'd want to separate them just because they have a slip though :/ I have a lot of slips that don't go to anything either. Like if I bought a regular amaray, and then they released a special steelbook or metalpak, I'd sell off the amaray and keep the steel and slip. LMAO, the problems of a movie collector! |

![]() ![]() I am building up my slipcover collection for 2016. I think I have 12 or so. As usual, I have give them away after Christmas (that way all my holiday movie purchases have arrived) |

With the rare exception, my usual routine;
1. Buy BD with a slip 2. Remove slip 3. Bin slip 4. Don't give discarded slips a second thought 5. Be happy ![]() Unless it's a proper collectors edition, ie. they're just amarays, then all my amarays get re-housed from the standard UK 15" cases to 11" cases anyway, so slips just don't factor into that process at all. |

I've left mine on with a little space so it doesn't touch the bottom.
