Default Batman vs Superman

So what is better, the Superman movies or the Batman movies, and what would look better on Blu-ray?

Easy question. - Batman Begins / Dark Knight blow any Superman out of the water.

Superman was sooooo bad. refer to the Superman thread for my opinion on that movie.

does the latest superman count? coz Christopher Reeve is the only true Superman. Superman 2, in my opinion was the best Superman movie ever. On the Batman side, Batman Begins is the best as of now; we haven't seen Dark Knight yet. So if we have to compare the best Superman movie to the best Batman movie... I'll have to say Batman Begins, and it can only get better with Dark Knight. Plus, I'm partial to Batman... the character is just deeper.

Batman is a lot more realistic than Superman. Can't wait for Batman Begins on Blu-ray. Never saw new Superman movie, after what I'm hearing thats probably not a bad thing

Batman all the way!!! Superman is cool but I'm always thinking to myself "STOP being such a sissy and regulate already". He just seems too naive and innocent for the role of vigilante.

In Movies both superheroes have there up and downs, overall thought I say Batman Begins is the best so far. Dark Knight TBD.

As far as Superheroes go, Superman is better.

They really didn't do anything drastically different. Not as much of a change as I would've expected.

The Batman movies have been better than the Superman movies overall.

Hopefully Dark Knight lives up to the hype, because it looks like expectations are sky high.

The new Superman movie was pretty good. Bryan Singer is a good story teller, so I think it's worth seeing. It's nowhere near as good as Batman Begins, but it was sure better than Batman Forever or Batman & Robin.

Joel Schumacher sucked.

I loved the Superman Directed by Richard Donner and Superman II directed Richard Lester. I absolutly hated Superman Returns it sucked. I liked Tim Burton's Batman and Christopher Nolen's Batman Begins. If I had to pick on superhero it would be Batman, he's darker, more human (well duh), just easier to relate to, well sort of.

The movie batman is a far cry from the original comic batman. in the original comics batman was far far darker than in the movies. he was a vigilanti who killed bad guys as he became more main stream this was toned down and became the batman we know today.

For a second I though that this thread related to favorite super heroe. Anyways...I pick Batman. Yeah Superman has all the cool powers, but he is a DUD. Batman; on the other hand, always has his hands full

I have no idea but I doubt he would have killed any one in the original 1939 comics. But he was ruthless in the days when Frank Miller was writing Batman.

Ok... My 2 cents:

I love super heroes... and I am a big Superman and Batman fan... however in terms of raw power and SUPERheroness... Superman is clearly better. Having said that... As much as I wanted to love Superman Returns.. I ended up just "liking it" for the same reasons as everyone else... there was like 1 good action sequence with the plane rescue.. and and a lot of meaningless mush. While I thought the whole Jor-El / Kal-El father son thing was cool... I couldn't get hyped about the other father son bits.

Batman Begins on the other hand rocked my freaking world.. BUT.....
As much as I like Batman Begins and Tim Burton's Batman, I would have to go with Superman: The Movie by Richard Donner as being the best one... specially if graded in conjunction with Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut since those two were filmed as 1 long 3+ hour movie. The depth that Donner's Cut brings to Superman makes the combination of those two movies better than either Batman or Batman Begins... In my humble opinion.

IMO, the idea of superman is too crazy... he is as fast as a speeding bullet, has super strength, is indestructible, has laser vision, can see through walls, to even have a story you have to make him not really use his powers to the full potential (IE make him a little dumber then what you and I would do). Kryptonite isn't even really that big of an issue if he took the time to just used super speed on all his bad guys and laser visioned it from far away... etc.

Batman on the other hand, having a psychotic super hero is genius
