Default Best Film Noir on Blu?

I've really gotten into film noir lately. What's the best film noir currently available. I already have Double Indemnity, Touch of Evil and The Maltese Falcon. Thanks.

Stunning 4k restoration. Rita Hayworth at her most beautiful and seductive. Orson Welles' unintentionally funny Irish accent. Glenn Anders hamming it up to the max. The iconic hall of mirrors sequence.

So much to enjoy.

It's disgusting how little film noir I've actually seen, given my love of dark visuals and well-dressed people.

Since you already have Double Indemnity and Maltese Falcon, you ought to be thinking in terms of not only the best, but the foundational, quintessential noirs. And in that vein, you have to see Out of the Past because it's up there in influence. It's got it all.

I'd say Gilda (1946) as well. The recent Criterion version was a game changer in quality.

Also, The Third Man. And LA Confidential. And M. And Rififi.

And we really need The Asphalt Jungle on Blu-ray...

Sunset Boulevard is my favorite one I've seen so far.

Laura is pretty good too.

Night of the Hunter (more of a southern gothic-noir.)

Blue Velvet and most David Lynch films (More neo-noir)

Double Indemnity is the quintessential film noir imo.

...it's also about as close as you can get to a perfect movie.

But if you already have it, then Out of The Past or Kiss Me Deadly will do just fine.

Personally I don't think of Sunset Boulevard as film noir.

Even though you could make a legitimate argument for it.

Master of Cinema's release of Touch of Evil. Anything in Jonathan Rosenbaum's Ten Overlooked Noir article.
