![]() ![]() Stunning 4k restoration. Rita Hayworth at her most beautiful and seductive. Orson Welles' unintentionally funny Irish accent. Glenn Anders hamming it up to the max. The iconic hall of mirrors sequence. So much to enjoy. Last edited by spanky87; 06-30-2016 at 03:54 AM. Reason: resized the large pic |

Since you already have Double Indemnity and Maltese Falcon, you ought to be thinking in terms of not only the best, but the foundational, quintessential noirs. And in that vein, you have to see Out of the Past because it's up there in influence. It's got it all.
I'd say Gilda (1946) as well. The recent Criterion version was a game changer in quality. |

Double Indemnity is the quintessential film noir imo.
...it's also about as close as you can get to a perfect movie. But if you already have it, then Out of The Past or Kiss Me Deadly will do just fine. Personally I don't think of Sunset Boulevard as film noir. Even though you could make a legitimate argument for it. Last edited by Ray Jackson; 06-28-2016 at 04:11 AM. |

Master of Cinema's release of Touch of Evil. Anything in Jonathan Rosenbaum's Ten Overlooked Noir article.
