Default List actors who you wish were in more physical action-hero roles

Brad Pitt:
He was a phenomenal presence in Troy. It's basically his only serious action role besides Mr & Mrs Smith. He has been in other action-oriented films (World War Z or Seven) but it's mainly running around and shooting a gun here and there. In Troy (and Mr. & Mrs. Smith), he was in full action mode.

Daniel Day Lewis:
Watching him in almost constant motion in The Last of the Mohicans was so thrilling. He did some fighting in The Boxer and Gangs of New York, but it would be nice to see him in a very physical action hero role again.

Lawrence Fishburne/Carrie Ann Moss/Hugo Weaving:
The Matrix was such an impactful film and it was a complete joy watching these three be involved in the most complex visually memorable action scenes in contemporary action cinema. It was nice to see Weaving briefly in action again in the Tolkien films, Carrie Anne Moss had a couple action thriller/sci fi movies, and I think Fishburne has been in a few straight-to-video action movies, but it would be nice to see them in full action mode again in Hollywood.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt:
While not your traditional action hero, whenever he is in action movies (Dark Knight Rises, Looper, Inception, Premium Rush and a physical role like The Walk), he is one of the few actors in Hollywood today that can exude toughness and gracefulness, sort of like a modern-day Gene Kelly. I would love to see a Gordon-Levitt action movie once a year.

What are your picks?

Sean Penn - He looked amazing in The Gunman, average movie but he really looked the part.

Sharlto Copley - he was pretty terrifying as Kruger in Elysium. I haven't seen Hardcore Henry yet so can't speak of his role there but he has great presence and good physicality for action.

Dan Stevens - The Guest nuff said!
