Yeah I was hoping for the Steelbook as well, but ordered anyway. $24.99 is low for a Best Buy pre order

I have Rise and Dawn on regular bluray. I am tempted to get the 4k trilogy in case I ever upgrade to 4k but don't know if the first 2 in 4k is worth it. To be honest I don't know if I will ever have a 4k setup.

Pretty much. Logan was "on sale" for $25 at Best Buy since it came out and they made that the regular price this week.

Fox titles always drop quickly too, Logan 4K was $20 not too long ago for at least a week. This'll probably follow a similar pricing pattern.

Anyone know if the DI was done in 2K - for a movie shot with Alexa 65 cameras - the image and cinematography is astounding - also very impressive Atmos mix

This one I definitely get, there are so many VFX elements (including the vast majority of major characters) that unless they were going to render the effects in 4K (which few films have) there was no point in doing a 4K DI. Though I don't want to downgrade the important of how they shot it, the filmmakers mentioned studying the David Lean epic look, and even in the digital world the 6.5K Alexa camera and 65mm lenses did give it that large format look IMO.

Loved this movie! Definitely my favorite of the trilogy.
One thing, I really hope that's not the cover. First two have a close up of Caesar's face, and I'm hoping they keep it that way but maybe with snow on him.

Since I'm getting the UHD, i don't care about the faces since those are on the bu-rays and not the 4K's.

That's how much I loved this movie too...the best yet in the series and a triumph of technological achievement. How the makers managed to extract such subtle emotional moments from completely CGI characters is mind-boggling. Epic indeed !
