Default Speaker hiss

I'm stumped!

I bought a Yamaha HTR-6060 and when i was at the level of volume that I like to view my movies in...I was getting a very large "hissing" (or static) noise coming out of the tweter of my center channel and my surround speakers...regardless if sound was going through them or not.

I figured it was the model (as informed by a local home theatre store).

So now i have a Denon AVR-1908.

I'M STILL GETTING THE SPEAKER HISS!

Granted, now its not as bad and i can only notice it if i actually listen for it....but it is still there.

what is causing the hiss? My speakers are the proper impedance (8 onhm) and they are well within the powever range (150W for the center channel).

My specs are in my signature.

thanks in advance!

-Chris
