Ruby Rose was born Ruby Rose Langenheim March 20,1986 in Melbourne, Australia. She rose to fame in North America by starring in season 3 & 4 of Orange is the New Black. Next she had roles in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016), XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017), and the musical comedy Pitch Perfect 3 (2017), and will appear in the film The Meg (2018), based on the novel of the same name. In August 2018, Rose was cast as Kate Kane / Batwoman in The CW's Arrowverse.

When I was on youtube I was seeing a lot of comments about this looks like hot garbage and it's woke as hell. I guess there calling it woke because it has the lesbian aspect in the trailer, I don't know. The modern Batwoman is written as being of Jewish descent and as a lesbian, so there not making Kate Kane a lesbian in the TV show just for the hell of it. I don't know about the other Arrowverse TV shows I only watch Supergirl but Kara Danvers sister Alex is a lesbian and Nia Nal is a transgender woman, what do these people expect. It's almost as if the commenters have never watched the Arrowverse before.

People are calling it woke because The trailers are super cringy and she clearly has a stick up her ass regarding guys . Also it gives cringy lines like "I won't let a man take credit for a woman's work" after she steals Batman's costume gadgets and breaks into Batman's Bat Cave. Also disrespecting Batman by saying the suit will be perfect once it fits a woman" after Luke Fox tells her Batman's Suit is perfect. Even the second short trailer some guy tells her not to do something and she gives him an eye roll like she has issue with that and does the opposite.

I'm not sure what exactly he was looking for in Batwoman, as far as look and feel go. It looks fairly close to how the comic looked AFAIR. And say that Nolan's films had an influence seems to be stating the obvious. I mean what would someone expect?

Now, as far as whether the show is any good? No clue.
