I'm getting to the point where I want to buy a new 4k TV and am currently looking at the 65" Samsung 8500 series with quantum dot technology and HDR.
While I'm looking forward to eventually getting a 4k player as well my main concern is improving the "look" of my extensive current collection of 2k blu rays. I understand that the TV's have an upscaling feature that enhances the look of 2k content. I also read on another thread that the upscale feature also is on 4k players but a couple people mentioned that it made blu rays look worse with motion artifacts and noise. Can someone tell me what improvements I would gain with my current collection? Will I see a noticeable difference? Will the HDR improve the color and contrast? When I do get a 4k player, is the difference that drastic? I have found a lot of the reviews here on this site interesting as they have mentioned many times that the 4k vs 2k release isn't that substantial.... Would love to hear feedback from members here that have made the 4k switch.... |
