Haven't collected steels for a while, might be tempted by this though.
Isn't it unusual for HMV to release steelbooks that aren't new releases? |

What would be in this Special Special Edition? Is that just what they're naming it as an excuse to re-release?
EDIT: Just looked at the HMV page, looks there's some interesting bonus features being added to this release (commentary sounding the most intriguing). |

New Special Features Newly Recorded Audio Commentary: Directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord sit down with editor Chris McKay and FILM CRIT HULK on the first special feature on the set's second disc. There's some slight information-overlap with the commentary on Disc One, but nothing too irritating. With the voice actors out of the way, the filmmakers have more time to discuss the craft of the movie, along with the performances, writing, animation, LEGO designwork, and just about every other aspect of the development and production of the film. The LEGO Movie in 90 Seconds (HD, 2 minutes): A stop-motion remake/truncation of the film narrated by a young, enthusiastic fan. If you frequent YouTube, you've probably seen this short. If not, well, enjoy. Wizard Team Go! (HD, 5 minutes): The origin of Vitruvius. How It Should Have Ended (HD, 4 minutes): Two stop-motion HISHE animated shorts. Trapped in the Ice (HD, 2 minutes): The initial Blur Studios animation test that helped the filmmakers pitch The LEGO Movie and bring it to life. Dream Job: Meet the Master Builders (HD, 13 minutes): A featurette that delves into the world of professional Master Builders (artists tasked by LEGO with creating the latest, greatest LEGO sets) and their contributions to the film's development. Unlock the Secrets (HD, 4 minutes): An insider's guide to The LEGO Movie, hosted by Batman. Deleted Scenes (HD, 8 minutes): Five deleted scenes are available; four comprised of animated storyboards -- "President Business Opening," "Emmet at Work," "Alternate Wild West" and "Alternate Middle Zealand" -- one, "A League of Just Us," as an early-stage animatic. Previously Available Special Features Audio Commentary: Directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord are joined by actors Chris Pratt, Will Arnett, Charlie Day and Alison Brie for a chatty, quip-riddled cast and crew commentary, one of the only extras on the disc that offers anything resembling an in-depth overview of the production. The cast's jokes tend to get in the way, amusing as the ensemble is, but there's still good fun to be had thanks to (among other things) the directors' almost gag-for-gag breakdown of the many, many, many easter eggs and details scattered throughout the film. Bringing LEGO to Life (HD, 13 minutes): A rather short, kid-friendly behind-the-scenes featurette narrated by Chris Pratt. Talking head interviews provide a bit of insight into the production, but not to any substantive ends. Stories from the Story Team (HD, 4 minutes): This rapidfire trip through the development takes a look at the evolution of the script, from early storyboards to dialogue to some of the film's abandoned scenes, characters, worlds and concepts. See It, Built It! (HD, 12 minutes): Some mini-featurettes for the kiddies, specifically instructions for building two simple models from the movie, online and off. Segments include "Introduction with Senior Designer Michael Fuller," "Build the Double-Decker Couch," "Build Emmet's Car," "Introduction with Modeling Artist Adam Ryan," "Digital Double-Decker Couch" and "Digital Emmet's Car." "Everything is Awesome" Sing-Along (HD, 3 minutes): Because your kids don't already know the words. Oh, they do? They've been singing it every day for months? Then you won't mind once more, karaoke style. Right? Fan-Made Films: Top-Secret Submissions (HD, 4 minutes): Clips from several homemade animated shorts, with the top three winners of a recent LEGO-hosted contest presented in their entirety. Alleyway Test (HD, 1 minute): The film's first animation test. Batman's A True Artist (HD, 1 minute): Batman stars in this on-the-cheap, stop-motion music video. Michelangelo & Lincoln: History Cops (HD, 1 minutes): A fun, pun-packed History Cops trailer. Enter the Ninjago (HD, 2 minutes): Ninjago characters commandeer The LEGO Movie. Deleted Scenes (HD, 3 minutes): Storyboarded scenes cut early in the production. Outtakes (HD, 3 minutes): An in-character blooper reel. Additional Promotional Content (HD, 4 minutes): Teaser promos and spots. |
