Default Amazon no longer giving the Prime 20% discount on collectors editions.

As if I needed any more reasons to take my shopping elsewhere. Didn't really know the best place for this. According to the CAG Twitter. This also affects Toys to Life figures.

So does this mean that Amazon only give 20% off the price it was ordered at initially and will not reduce to the lower price using their "Pre-order price promise" and then deduct 20%?

Also, I kind of figured if they can do it on normal regular games, why not also collectors editions? They're so overblown and inflated in price now it's ridiculous. I thought £100 was taking the mick. Never mind $250 etc.

? It this moving forward? I just checked and all of the current available to order collector editions are still offering me the 20% discount.

Promo details for the US as of today...

Offer only applies to products sold and shipped by Amazon.com
Customer must have an active free trial or paid Prime subscription at the time of placing an order and the time of shipment to receive offer.
The 20% discount applies to an item’s List Price and does not apply to an item’s already discounted price.
Offer only applies to products in pre-order or within two weeks after release date as listed on the product detail page.
Offer does not apply to digital content.
Offer does not apply to product bundles including but not limited to console game bundles.
Offer good while supplies last.
Offer is non-transferable and may not be resold.
If any of the products or content related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product or content, subject to applicable refund policies.
If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.
Shipping charges and taxes may apply to discounted items.
Offer restricted to a quantity of 1 per qualifying item.
Amazon reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time.

Might just be a non-US Amazon thing.

Yeah not sure since this is the current T&C and it seems like it's back(?) to normal. Like I said I just reported what CAG was saying yesterday. Maybe they changed their minds?

I did some more digging and some people did see it yesterday but some didn't. So who knows. Maybe they wanted to see what they could get away with.

Thats a definite possibility. No better way to test the waters than to actually test the waters. If they've changed their minds thats cool of them.

I would guess that there were a lot of complaints and so decided to change it back.

20% off Prime Savings doesn't seem to apply to Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash...

I have noticed discount not being applied to non collections too. Can't tell why. But the discount has been getting me to buy some games I was on the fence with. Going to make me wait more now until prices come down a few months later.

I was going to say, is it because they like to send out broken CEs all the time and they're getting tired of returns? I never buy Amazon for CEs. I'll make the drive to Gamestop or whatever. At least I know it wont be broken when I get it that way.

There have been occasions where it takes awhile for it to reflect. I've waited to pre-order a few titles because the initial listing does not show the discount.

The prime discount is 20% off the list price no matter what the price was when it was ordered or what it goes down to. So $59.99 -> $47.99 (plus tax) for most full length, regular edition games. The Pre-order price guarantee is still effective, but it only matters if the price somehow drops below 20% off the list price, because of a glitch or mistake or something.
