“Forever My Girl” is the fourth film to land on the pre-Halloween weekend, which will also see launches of Paramount’s “2017 Cloverfield Movie,” Lionsgate’s “Jigsaw” and Universal’s Miles Teller PTSD drama “Thank You for Your Service.”

“Forever My Girl” stars Roe as a country music super-star who left his bride at the altar choosing fame and fortune instead. When he unexpectedly returns to his hometown for the funeral of his high school best friend, he’s suddenly faced with the consequences of all that he left behind.

The film is written and directed by Bethany Ashton Wolf, based upon the novel by Heidi McLaughlin.

The film features original country music written for the screen by Brett Boyett.

Yes, that's Jessica Rothe. I don't know who she was in La La Land but she was the star of Happy Death Day.

I absolutely loved Rothe in Happy Death Day, but this so doesn't look like my thing, sadly.

Thankfully, Please Stand By looks much better. Though she's not the star.

I'll watch anything with Rothe in it. Between Happy Death Day and the small gig in La La Land, she's dreamy. In a strange, dopey sort of way.

I finally saw this trailer at my local theatre, before my second viewing of Pitch Perfect 3. Roadside hasn't even put any TV spots on youtube, so I don't know if any even exist.

This will probably be on every theatre's smallest screen for 2 weeks max and make $1M or less opening weekend. Sad. I'll try to see it.

Perhaps they're aiming this at that faith based demo.
