Transcendence AKA Transcendance 3D Blu-ray (2014) [Region B Locked] [France only] - Blu-ray Forum

So if this was apparently converted to 3D for Asian markets, is anyone looking into whether there is/ will be a 3D blu ray available for purchase? is this another Robocop scenario where the very limited conversion release means that no 3D blu will surface? I for one actually really enjoyed the movie and would love to see it in 3D.

Thanks for the information mate. This is out in the UK at the end of this month, however i might hold out till November to pick up the French 3D blu. I would love to see this in 3D and i said before, i really enjoyed the movie.

Well think of the movie as a kind of cross between Lawnmower Man (remember that one? lol) and Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Johnny Depp is a nano tech/ A.I. scientist who is poisoned by some radical anti technology group and has not long to live so with the assistance of his wife (also a scientist) he uploads himself to this computer system he's created so he becomes solely a digital entity. In doing so he becomes more and more powerful and he gains control of various systems and..

... starts to build an army of nano tech enhanced soldiers who are people who had an illness or disability, that he's managed to cure with his technology.

The reviews were savage and it sunk at the box office but i really liked it and found it to be an effective and thought provoking science fiction with lots of interesting ideas. The movie looks incredible too with great cinematography and whilst it's not an action per se, there are plenty of cool FX and visuals throughout to make a 3D version definitely worth seeking out.

I have zero interest in this in 3d, but may get the 3d blu-ray if it has a better transfer then the 2d release (which stinks) to watch in 2d. So here is hoping it isn't the same mess that the 2d release is.

I pre-ordered. it came out 33 euros with shipping to the US. Hopefully 3D version stands.

alrighty, thanks to this thread I just cancelled my rental and will wait to hear if we'll get a 3D release in english language without subtitles

Thanks Levcore. That does sound pretty good. The trailers looked interesting now that I remember this one.
