It's not a Disney "princess" movie so I don't expect it to do well especially when everyone just sees it as a ripoff of The Book of Life. If Thor and Justice League are still in theaters it will have an even harder time drawing crowds.

Latinos make up about 20 percent of the US population, & the major studios never make films geared towards them. That, coupled with the kid/family audience, & the single adults like me who never miss a Pixar film? On a major holiday weekend? Coco's gonna be huge.

I expect it to be huge with Latino (mainly Mexican-American) audiences, but probably a mixed bag for everyone else.

Pixar already knows this and are heavily marketing the film in areas with large Latino populations. The movie is a week out and I have yet to see any promotional material for it in my neck of the woods

I'm guessing $55 million

The last animated movie to make over $100M+ domestic was Despicable Me 3 5 months ago, so I think Coco should do great.

COCO - 43.337 MILLION (3-Day)/61.37 MILLION (5-Day)
ROMAN J. ISRAEL, ESQ. - 7.46 MILLION (3-Day)/9.49 MILLION (5-Day)
THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS - 4.1 MILLION (3-Day)/5.4 MILLION (5-Day)

I don't know how many theaters The Man Who Invented Christmas is opening in but it seems like it's going semi wide as it's opening here and at quite a few other theaters I've noticed. I think it should do solid business but I'll adjust my prediction up or down depending on the theater count.

Bad real word of mouth for Justice League is going to help this a lot.

Don't forget a twenty minute long Frozen adventure in front of it. That's going to help too. Frozen Fever sure did, some years ago. Pixar, great reviews, no competition, ... This will do more than fine. Justice League will drop a lot.

69% of JL's audience is above 25 years old, families aren't going to see it.

I've thought about going just for that and then leaving. Coco just doesn't look good to me.

If you're gonna do that, you may as well save your money...it'll be showing on ABC next month.

The 20 minute short will likely be the best thing about the showing.

I'll be taking the family to watch Coco for sure. Not often we get excellent reviewed movies of the hispanic heritage. This is already Mexico's top grossing all time film. I kinda wish I didnt have to sit thru the Frozen short but the kids will probably enjoy it.

Coco looks outstanding to me, but whenever I mention it to anyone, they have no idea what I am talking about. When I show them the trailer, they are unimpressed.
